White Onion

Caster Sugar

Red Wine

Balsamic Vinegar

Caraway Seeds

Plain Flour

Remove all damaged and loose leaves. Divide the cabbage in quarters. Remove the white stem and slice the tightly packed leaves into thin strips.

Shred the cabbage

Start by frying the onion until it has a light golden colour. Add the sugar; stir a few times to help the sugar dissolve. 

Fry the Onion

Add the cabbage, all liquids and caraway seeds into the pot and season with salt. Braise with a lid on for 30 minutes.

Once the cabbage softens thicken it with flour and cook for additional 2 - 3 minutes. Adjust taste with salt and vinegar if needed.
